At Mathnasium, we help children understand maths by teaching the way that makes sense to them. Children who consistently attend sessions at our learning centres enjoy a transformative learning experience and make huge strides in the classroom.
Attitude: When maths makes sense, kids develop a more positive attitude toward maths.
Understanding: Mathnasium teaches for understanding, giving students the ability to succeed in any maths environment. As Larry Martinek, Mathnasium’s Chief Instructional Officer notes, “It's pretty easy to forget things you memorise and near impossible to forget things you understand."

Our experience of Mathnasium has been extremely positive. I first brought my child in because she was falling behind in class and was refusing to do homework. I also wanted to preserve my relationship with her as a parent as this had deteriorated as a result of trying (unsuccessfully) to get her to do her homework. Over the course of 3 months, my daughter has amazed us with what she can do, she loves to go in (we especially thank Allan, Duncan and Ping). Her school teacher says she is keeping the pace of the class which is a 100% improvement from 3 months ago! Also she is getting around 80% and 90% in her school assessments, which again is a massive improvement from actually refusing to do the assessment or not completing it! My daughter gets excited at the number of pages she completes in her workbook and the prizes she earns after reaching certain milestones. She looks forward to go in and she now claims “maths is easy”. We are also super pleased that Mathnasium keeps going during the holidays so they can keep up their practice. Overall we are therefore very pleased with the Mathnasium experience.

My ten year old joined Mathnasium in September 21 and has in-centre sessions three times a week (3hrs total). In all the time she has been a member, I have never once heard her complain about going in. Her tutors get the very best out of each session by making it super fun and rewarding. Thanks to their help, my daughter has already begun to build a strong foundation in maths which has been reflected in her end of term report at school. A big thanks to Ping and her team and a special shout out to Alan!

My daughter really enjoys Mathnasium, we have seen an increase in her confidence and ability to think of different ways to work questions out calmly. She has certainly made an improvement.
I do wish you had more slots available on a Friday and more options on a Saturday however as this would be great to help with squeezing all three slots in around school and activities.

All 3 of my children enjoyed Mathnasium very much. The staff were always encouraging and supportive and it really helped them improve their maths skills and confidence. It also helped them keep learning and progressing with their maths at a time when they were being provided with very little by their state school, during lockdown. All 3 of them passed entrance exams to highly selective schools after their time at Mathnasium. In fact, my son's new school told me he had come top in his intake in maths.

My daughter has attended Mathnasium for the past 12 months. What a blessing we had this throughout lockdown 1 and 2. It gave her structure and a regular maths rhythm which was essential as she was falling behind in her maths at school. The curriculum was just going to fast for her. But at Mathnasium she was able to take her time and slowly and bit by bit she has caught up and is so much more CONFIDENT about maths. She even loves it now. She has gone from 'I hate maths' to 'I love maths' and it's amazing. Ping is so kind and patient and brilliant at motivating the children. All the instructors are great and very engaging. So are the worksheets and the rewards Ping uses. I wish I could have gone to Mathnasium when I was a kid! My daughter is about to change schools and is so happy, calm and looking forward to the change. She really enjoys school now and I think of it has to do with Mathnasium. Being better at maths gave her confident across the board and showed her if she can put the work in she can get better at things. Some weeks it was hard to motivate her to go to Mathnasium but usually 9 of out 10 times she wanted to do. We are so lucky we joined Mathnasium.

The very friendly and always very helpful teachers changed my daughter's attitude towards .She actually likes math now and is making constant progress at school.
Ping is very accommodating with every querries and worries, always extremely helpful and always has time for every parent.
All the membership of the teaching Team are excellent.

Both girls have really benefited from their time at Mathsnasium. It has helped them to get into the schools of their choice and to stay ahead in Maths in their classes at school. It has given them confidence in their abilities and hence they enjoy it and look forward to new challenges. Mathsnasium has helped them enjoy their learning, achieve their goals and prepare for their next goals in a positive way, who can ask for more than that.

It is absolutely amazing how quickly you have set this up. It is perfect. My son concentrates, enjoys mathnasium@home and he learns so much. I felt that the programme was very good and shows how the progress is being tackled by firstly having careful tests, them matching a teaching programme. The tutors are great and kind. The environment is friendly and professional and engaging. My son Arthur gained the confidence and the feedback reports made me as a parent feel happy that my son was covering key and ground rules comprehensively.

Mathnasium follows a logical system for developing mathematical knowledge and skills. Working from foundation skills outward, through levels of increasing complexity, the young learner is given the support and training experience necessary in order to fully master all skills involved at each level, which is then confirmed by tests before moving outward to the next level. Just as in the concept of a gynmnasium, Mathnasium follows the idea that you become able and confident in mathematics by working through relevant problem examples until you have mastered them. Regular practice in each week is recommended. In such a way the learner is able to develop quickly based on secure knowledge, understanding, and practice. Maths becomes an essential skill which is seen as an enjoyable, rewarding activity. Gone is the idea that one is not good at maths or that maths is too difficult. Arguably, such problems arise from an inadequate method of teaching and training maths in general education. Mathnasium has been great for our son who continues to enjoy going three times a week for an hour each, fitting it happily into a busy schedule. Having missed a year of maths by sojourn abroad, Mathnasium has allowed him to quickly catch up, consolidate on required skills, and now he's starting to move on eagerly and proudly ahead. I like the professional but kind and caring approach. I like the organised look of the room. I also liked the test and analysis of this test and the feedback from it and what came in the plan to fill the gaps of each student.
I would happily recommend this program. It would be easier too if the programme was open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Fridays as well. Maybe this can happen in the future. Apart from that scope for more times I am very impressed with the programme.

The team at Mathnasium set up a rational system of mathematical development, which starts with identifying a child's current level based on assessment and then creates a personalized learning plan to complete that level to an excellent standard and move onward on the basis of full confidence in one's skills. The child feels free to practice maths and develop confidence and happiness in its exercise.

Mathnasium has helped my son enormously over the past 6 months. His confidence in his ability to do maths was very low when her started attending sessions and he was falling behind at school. Since starting the Mathnasium programme, I have seen a complete change in his attitude towards maths. Thanks to the patient and helpful tutoring, he now really enjoys the subject. He has caught up at school and recently sat his SATs without any trouble at all.

Mathsnasium is such a great idea and my
Children love attending a few times a week they really look forward to it. Their confidence in maths at school has grown incredibly and they are proud of their hard work and achievements. We are looking forward to their next exams! The teachers are really great and enthusiastic and everyone is so friendly. I would really recommend this to all children. My daughter really enjoys attending Mathnasium and happily goes several times a week. The flexible attendance (being able to drop in at any time it is open) really fits well with her other after school activities. After 3 months we can already see a real improvement in her attitude and confidence in maths. She seems much more willing and able to complete her maths homework and now just gets on with it, rather than putting it off. We feel confident that we will also see results in terms of academic achievement as time goes on.
