Mathnasium opens second UK Learning Centre in Oxford

Maths tutoring business expands following strong demand for its proven approach

Mathnasium is a global organisation that has designed a proven maths learning programme which has already secured a strong track record with over 900 successful franchises in America, Canada, Hong Kong and the Middle East. The Mathnasium approach uses specially trained maths instructors to deliver its innovative approach to learning maths; helping children to develop a real understanding and love of the subject.

The Oxford branch situated at 18 South Parade, North Oxford, OX2 7JL opens a week on Saturday (8th September) will be run by Ping Woolley, former Deputy Director for the Great British China Centre, who moved to the city with her husband and eight-year-old son last July.

To mark the official opening next Saturday Ping is hosting a family fun day from 11am – 2pm and is inviting local families to come down to the facility to learn more about this fun and innovative way of learning maths.

Director of UK Operations at Mathnasium and franchise expert Steve Felmingham agrees: “After opening Mathnasium’s first learning centre and training facility in Radlett, Hertfordshire last year, we have seen unprecedented demand for its proven approach. So, what better place to open our next Learning Centre than in Oxford, the prestigious home of UK academia?”

The Mathnasium Method works by developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between numbers and problems in a real-world environment. This delivers:

- personalised learning based on student’s learning requirements which can be shared with their school maths teacher for continuity.

- specially trained maths tutors who utilise Mathnasium’s proprietary teaching materials and techniques to implement a bespoke learning plan.

- a relatable way for students to master the material and develop real understanding and build a love for maths.

- transformative results — showing measurable changes in attitude, confidence, and school progress.

Adds Steve: “However, it’s not just learning to pass exams. Mathnasium teaches life skills that help prepare students for sixth-form, university, and beyond.”

Following Oxford, Mathnasium is planning the launch of 28 new UK franchises, including Learning Centres in Milton Keynes, Amersham, Bramhall, Chiswick and Crouch End very soon.
