CentreDirectorTanika, Director of International Education

A Mathnasium employee since 2004, Tanika has seen our company evolve from a humble start-up to a global leader in maths education. Initially serving as an Instructor and Centre Director at two company-owned centres, Tanika began working full-time for Mathnasium's education department in 2008. 

Originally from Chicago, Tanika moved around a lot during her formative years. She’s been in the United Kingdom since 2015 and loves the rain! Tanika comes from a large, tightly-knit immediate family (she is one of 10 children). One of her personal goals is to learn or do something new every year starting on her birthday. 

Zoe, Education Coordinator

Zoe joined us as a qualified teacher with experience in primary and prep schools. Her teaching has taken her from West Cumbria and all the way to the Falkland Islands! She loves teaching maths and working with children to overcome obstacles, extend their skills and believe in their ability to achieve.

Fun facts about Zoe: she is developing her bookbinding skills, has travelled to Uganda twice to support a charity project, and will be spending July 2017 in India with LRTT deliver teacher training. Her favourite colour is red! 


Jacob-John, Centre Manager 

Jacob has joined us after spending a number of years as an education and project manager in Italy. He comes to us with a wealth of knowledge gained form working in a variety of educational settings, both in the UK and overseas market. Jacob is looking forward to being able to help children with their maths using the Mathnasium method, something which he says had he have been aware of at school age, maths would have been his strongest subject. 

Jacob is a keen reader and has enjoyed travelling and experiencing new cultures from a number of far flung countries around the globe. He misses the weather in Italy, but is hopeful to see the sun in the UK again at some point. 


Santi, Instructor up to GCSE level

Santi is currently in upper 6th and hoping to study Law and French at university in the future. He enjoys the opportunity to challenge himself his current studies of pure mathematics and statistics brings. Having taken part in numerous maths competitions since a young age, Santi enjoys working on challenging concepts. He has a great love of imparting his own knowledge onto others and seeing their own confidence within the subject grow. Santi also speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys musical theatre. 


Alex, Instructor up to GCSE level

Alex is currently taking a gap year before going on to study natural sciences at university. He very much enjoys working with students of all ages and enjoys seeing the various practical uses of maths that are present all around. Alex is also a keen badminton and piano player, along with being a regular competitor in maths competitions.



 Scott, Instructor up to GCSE level

Scott is currently in upper 6th and hoping to study Engineering at university in the future. Scott very much enjoys the theorem side of maths and the opportunities it brings for carrying out investigative work. He has a love of numbers and enjoys working with children to help them gain their own understanding. Scott is also a keen rugby player and enjoys volunteering with The Scout Association.


  James, Instructor up to GCSE level


James is a former pupil of Haberdashers’ Aske’s School and went on to study at Imperial College London, with a year spent at The University of Berkeley. James’s love of maths has been ever present from a young age, he hopes that he can instil his enthusiasm in children of all ages and abilities. He also enjoys hockey, rugby and travelling. 


Nicola, Instructor

Nicola has experience of coaching students for Oxbridge entrance exams and public speaking. Having worked within education for a number of years. She has a love of functional maths, enabling students to grasp concepts that allow them to go on to master mathematics at a higher level. Nicola has a young daughter and enjoys spending time outdoors.
